While I had moderate experience in graphic design prior to the Visual Design Apprenticeship (VDA), most of my experience revolved around simple promotional flyers for different organizations and events. I dabbled in Illustrator here and there, but I was still heavily reliant on Canva. I hoped to gain some insight about designing through VDA that I may not have acquired through teaching myself. Now I can proudly say that I’ve become more comfortable with Illustrator and Figma! (I even know how to navigate Photoshop now!) There’s still so many ways I can continue to improve, but I’m thankful to my peers and mentors for helping me along my journey.
